Krist Kindl Markt Headed Back to Downtown

Community

This holiday season, the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau are bringing the beloved Krist Kindl Markt back to its roots in downtown Copperas Cove. From December 6th to 8th, 2024, the community will once again gather in the heart of town to celebrate the festive event that has become a cherished tradition for residents and visitors alike.

For years, the Krist Kindl Markt has drawn crowds with its mix of holiday spirit, unique vendors, and family-friendly activities. This year promises to be bigger and better, as the Chamber of Commerce has worked hard to enhance the event by moving it to the lively downtown area, creating a more vibrant and accessible experience for all attendees.

The festivities will kick off on Friday, December 6th, with the official lighting of the Christmas tree, a ceremony that will set the tone for the entire weekend. The towering tree, adorned with twinkling lights and colorful ornaments, will be the focal point of the night as families gather to share in the joy of the holiday season. The tree lighting will be accompanied by carolers, hot cocoa, and the excitement of the crowd as the lights come alive, officially signaling the start of the Christmas celebration.

Saturday, December 7th, will bring another major highlight of the weekend: the lighted holiday parade. Starting at dusk, the streets of downtown Copperas Cove will be lined with spectators eagerly waiting to see the glowing floats, marching bands, and local organizations decked out in holiday finery. The parade will be a magical sight, with floats covered in thousands of lights, creating a dazzling display as they move through the streets.

Throughout the weekend, the Krist Kindl Markt will feature vendors offering handmade gifts, holiday decorations, and local crafts, perfect for holiday shopping. Whether you’re looking for unique presents, delicious treats, or festive decorations, there will be plenty to browse. The market will also include a variety of food trucks serving seasonal favorites like hot cider, funnel cakes, and savory street foods to keep everyone fueled for the fun.

The Copperas Cove Chamber and Visitors Bureau have worked diligently to bring this special event downtown, believing it will breathe new life into the area and create lasting holiday memories. The decision to host the event in the heart of Copperas Cove aligns with the Chamber’s mission to foster economic growth while creating a sense of community and togetherness.

“This year’s Krist Kindl Markt is a celebration of everything that makes Copperas Cove special,” said Beth Galick-Carney , Chamber President. “By bringing it back downtown, we’re not only honoring the tradition of the event but also supporting our local businesses and providing a central, accessible place for the entire community to enjoy.”

In addition to the tree lighting, parade, and vendor market, there will be family-friendly activities throughout the weekend, including games, craft stations for kids, and visits from Santa Claus himself. Children will have the chance to share their Christmas wishes and take photos with Santa, adding an extra touch of magic to the festivities.

The return of the Krist Kindl Markt to downtown Copperas Cove is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of community, tradition, and the spirit of the holiday season. Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor from out of town, this year’s event promises to be a memorable experience for all.
